Declutter! Always a great goal.

Susan Reynolds February 20, 2015

We've talked before about having too much stuff - Clutter can be draining and de-energizing. By getting more organized, you simplify and live a more meaningful life.   Spring is still a few weeks away, but I am already in the mood for some "spring cleaning"!

We are starting to collect your donations for this year's Swap N Run.  This week, pick a drawer, a closet, or both depending on your time and ambition  and get rid of the clothes that you don't love and feel fabulous in!  Give them to your Mama Bootcamp Coach.

Then join us for the Swap N Run on May 3 at the Folsom Studio, and find some new-to-you things that fit the body and life you live right now.  Fewer things you don't need, and free things you love?  That's what I call WINNING.  Last year, we had over 600 items to swap.  All clothing not swapped will be donated to Stand Up Placer (www.standupplacer.org).  Registration is now open:  Register HERE.

Have an outstanding week!

Mama Bootcamp Partner Coach Sheeba shares...

Susan Reynolds February 6, 2015

With the new year still fresh and the Super Bowl just a few days passed, the theme of goals are still circulating through my thoughts. Yet there are so many tips and tricks out there on how to best set and manage our goals, and at times it can all seem a bit… overwhelming.

“The most important thing about goals is having one.”  ~Geoffrey F. Abert

As a Professional Coach, I have some great tips for you today on setting and achieving goals that I would love to share with you:

1. MAKE SURE TO KNOW YOUR “WHY”!

If you don’t  know what is compelling and motivating you to set this goal, then it will be extremely difficult to remain committed when the going gets tough. Let’s be honest, we all have those days!

2. SET AND REFINE THE GOAL.

Once your goal is set (and hopefully written down), it becomes something real. Before that, it is just a dream, an idea…something intangible in your mind. Once you state it clearly and write it down, your play is set in motion. As you look at the goal, make sure it is achievable and realistic, given all the things that are going on in your life right now. It is much more important to take those small, focused steps than making such a lofty one and feeling defeated because you were not able to get started. Once you get started, you can always refine the goal - but you have to get started.

3. DETERMINE THE SELF-SABOTAGE.

We all have those things that we do that really get in the way of our progress. There are people that we listen to that inhibit our growth. There are beliefs that we hold that have not been updated to the real truth of who we are. Strategize how you will keep moving down the field, and fine tune how you will handle the challenges you’ll encounter along the way.

4. IDENTIFY YOUR SUPPORT TEAM.

We are not called to be lone-rangers. So, having that support team is so important to your progress. Your support team consists of those who can hold you accountable, are willing to challenge you, and provide encouragement. Who is this in your life?

5. CONSIDER A STRETCH-GOAL.

I surprised a client of mine last month by asking her about her “stretch goal”. What is a stretch goal? It is a goal that stretches you beyond your comfort zone. This allows you to keep growing and consider those things that you normally would not have done. I am reminded of a personal trainer in these circumstances who often encourage us to stretch beyond what we think we can accomplish. We tend to surprise ourselves when we do achieve a stretch goal. So don’t just settle on the comfortable, dip your feet into the unknown, and trust that you will be just fine!

As the old saying goes, “The journey of a thousand miles begins with the first step.”

What step can you take to set a goal for yourself today? If you aren’t sure where to start, I have created a simple assessment you can take to help you become clear about where you are today so you know where you can take your first step. It’s easy and free, just click here and enter your name and email address to take the assessment now. Take that one small step that will get you closer to setting the goals that will encourage you to THRIVE in the most important moments of your life!

THRIVE in your moments!

Mojo Motivation: Yes, you can!

Susan Reynolds January 23, 2015

One of my favorite quotes, "Don't look back. Something may be gaining on you."  Our Folsom mamas are certainly not looking back as they walk/jog and eat these hills for breakfast!  Do you remember the first time you looked at that hill, then were asked to jog up?  You were probably thinking..."can I do this?"  Yes, you can.

If you find yourself struggling with a goal or your New Year Resolution, look at the challenge not as a setback, but as an opportunity to discover who you are.  Reset, reboot, start today.  Yes, you can.

In all aspects of your life, if you find yourself saying "no, I can't", ask yourself, "Why?"  Be stronger than your excuses.  Keep it simple and start from where you are today, right this moment.  Yes, you can!
